Pharmaceutical discipline, pointed at skin

Raupyam was not built by people new to this. It was built by pharmacists who came from pharmaceutical manufacturing and drug delivery — where a number on a document has to be defensible to someone who will check — and who found that cosmetics has never been held to that.

What we are building

A cosmetics company run to pharmaceutical discipline: materials verified on our own instruments, methods validated before they are trusted, and a delivery system that has to earn its place before it is claimed.

In pharmaceutical manufacturing nobody accepts a raw material because the paperwork says so. Every incoming lot is identity-tested, every method is validated, and every claim traces to a study someone can produce. None of that is exotic. It is simply the standard, and cosmetics has never been held to it.

We are not doing anything clever. We are applying an ordinary pharmaceutical discipline to an industry that has not had to meet it — and publishing the result, including the parts that did not work.

The view underneath all of it

A formula is a hypothesis about what skin needs. Most of this industry prints it on a label as though it were a finding.

The difference between the two is whether anyone measured. That is the whole of our position, and it is why this site is mostly made of data rather than claims.

What we hold ourselves to

Measure before claiming

Every raw material tested on our own instruments before it enters a formula. Where we cannot test something, we say who did.

Publish the failures

Every file has a section on what we could not conclude. The ones ending in a question are more useful than the ones ending neatly.

Correct in place, and date it

When something turns out to be wrong, the correction is logged where the error was rather than quietly edited away.

No accusation without data

We publish the measurement and leave the supplier's name out until we have analytical proof. Then we publish the proof.

Where we are now, what we are building and where we are going are set out separately, and kept separate on purpose, on the roadmap.

The people

Three pharmacists, from manufacturing, from drug delivery, and from the bench.

Uday Kumar Pandit

Pharmacist · 30 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing

A pharmacist who has spent three decades building and scaling pharmaceutical manufacturing across regulated and non-regulated markets. His work has centred on sterile and non-oral dosage forms, including complex injectables — the categories where a process deviation is not a cosmetic problem.

He has taken greenfield and brownfield facility projects end to end: conceptual design, engineering, execution, qualification and commercial production, together with the technology transfer that turns a formulation on a bench into a product a plant can make the same way every time.

At Raupyam he leads manufacturing strategy, qualifies partner facilities, and owns the transfer from formulation to production.

M.Pharm · Ph.D. · EMBA · 30 years in drug delivery

Three decades in drug delivery and formulation development across the United States, Europe and other advanced markets, taking portfolios from concept through to commercial manufacture. His field is skin penetration pathways, stability engineering, rheology, and delivery systems including liposomes and microspheres.

He is here for a specific reason rather than a general one. The delivery work in Horizon 2 of our roadmap — whether an active needs a carrier at all, and whether a vesicle survives the formulation it is put into — is exactly his field, and it is the part of our programme where being wrong would be easiest.

If you make a raw material and can answer the questions we ask, we would like to hear from you. If you have measured something we have published and reached a different answer, we would like that more.
